Mumbai.....I've been a part of this magical city for more than a years time.....Its a very short time to become a real hardcore Mumbaikar......But the richness and the fragrance that has given to my life is something always to be remembered and unforgettable....
Mumbai had been a real mystery and above all i had a real dreadful feeling of the city during my childhood.....Having seen the horrible bombblasts in the various news channels, the only feel that came into mind about Mumbai was "How people could live there with a peaceful mind"........But later being a college student the pictures of mumbai began to change a lot....As the age progresses the mind too matures.....And the maturity levels are not to be meant for any kind of limitations.......Go beyond your limitations - That was the slogan during the college days......So did the colourful picture of Mumbai contained the various colourful factors like - the actresses [no care for actors], Cricketers, Models, Cars [modelled ones], Bikes, Night life, parties, the list is not going to end.....As a teenager i dont find it too bad to have a colourful dream to get to Mumbai.....But being from a conservative town Mumbai was a dream beyond expectations...... So after college Bangalore was the hot target for me to get settled......
As the offer letter from Accenture was given i was asked " Are you ready to relocate"...I boldly said "Yes" out of the fear - if i say a no wether the interviewer might change his mind.....That was the best decision i had ever made....So after the results came i was given a joining date of SEP 06 2006 and for my surprise the place of joining was MUMBAI..... Oh god where am i getting into.....I could feel the fear my mom had in her mind....It was clearly visible as she asked me "Are you sure they told you to join at Mumbai".......But then my papa told me "Its good to have an exposure"....That gave me courage to get to the mad city of Mumbai.....I boarded the flight for Mumbai.....
On SEP 05 2006 I became a part of the great Mumbai......I was greeted by a taxi driver...."Sir kahan jaana hain aapko"....Being a real novice of Hindi language i told him very politely "Main Mumbai pehle baar aaya hoon....Mujhe yeh address pe chodo"....I dont know how i managed to get those words......Even though the taxi walla seemed to be a pretty ordinary guy, he was one among the Mumbai's taxi drivers.....Had that blood in him and he showed the real bloodiness when i reached the company guest house....From CS International Airport to Chembur he charged me a damn mere 800 Rupees......Out of a blue i was struck on head wid a hammer......At that time i started thinking why i came to this place...."Bangalore was fit nd good for me"......But still got the boost to fight.....
From there my fight started.....I started to explore Mumbai.....Company had a policy of giving guesthouse for only 15 days...new to the city and to find a place for stay in 15 short days....Aint that short period.....But started to search....Finally wid god's grace got into a flat at Thane.....Didnt cared for how long i had to travel daily...didnt cared if i could get everything near to my flat....the only thing that concerned me was "I need a place to stay"......
To be continued..........
